We are looking for a Freelance Social Media Specialist to support social media content creation and localisation for the China market, with a focus on Xiaohongshu (RED) and WeChat.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Chinese digital platforms, online trends, and audience behaviour, and can adapt global campaigns into content that resonates with Chinese audiences. You will work closely with the regional social media team to develop content ideas, localise campaigns, and create engaging social content using AI-powered creative tools.

Hours: 60 hours per month

• Create engaging social media content for Chinese platforms, particularly: Xiaohongshu (RED), WeChat and Other relevant Chinese digital platforms.
• Develop content ideas based on Chinese social media trends, cultural moments, and audience preferences.
• Adapt global campaigns into locally relevant content for Chinese audiences.
• Create simple visual assets using AI-powered tools and lightweight design platforms.
• Support content planning, campaign execution, and social media calendars.
• Ensure content aligns with the brand voice while remaining authentic for Chinese audiences.
• Use AI tools to support: Content ideation, Copy generation, Creative concepts and Visual content creation.
• Collaborate with regional marketing teams and provide insights on Chinese market trends.

Requirements

• Native-level Mandarin Chinese with strong English communication skills.
• Strong understanding of Chinese social media platforms, especially Xiaohongshu (RED) and WeChat.
• Proven experience creating content for Chinese audiences.
• Strong understanding of Chinese internet culture, trends, and audience behaviour.
• Experience localising global campaigns for the China market.
• Comfortable using AI-powered tools such as: ChatGPT, Canva AI, Adobe Firefly, Adobe Express, Midjourney and DALL·E.
• Comfortable creating simple social media visuals using Canva, Figma, Photoshop, or similar tools.
• Able to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
