About the role

Bring your Frame & Truss knowledge to a role where accurate estimating, commercial thinking and strong relationships directly influence the work we win and the service we provide.
Based at our Wacol Frame & Truss site, you’ll coordinate competitive commercial estimates that balance customer requirements, market conditions and sustainable margins. You’ll work closely with estimating, sales, operations and technical teams, as well as suppliers and customers, to turn construction plans and project information into well-considered quotes.

What’s involved

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
  • Coordinate the estimating workflow, helping the team respond to quote requests accurately and within agreed timeframes.
  • Prepare commercially sound and market-relevant estimates for residential and commercial Frame & Truss projects.
  • Review plans, specifications and tender requirements to identify project needs, risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with sales and operational teams to build a clear understanding of customer priorities, product options and competitive pricing.
  • Develop productive relationships with suppliers and purchasing teams to strengthen product knowledge and commercial outcomes.
  • Support customers with complex tender requirements, including larger organisations and government-related projects.
  • Monitor performance and design information to identify trends and improve estimating outcomes.
  • Use systems and reporting tools to maintain accurate records, manage priorities and support effective decision-making.
  • Communicate openly with stakeholders, resolving issues early and keeping commitments on track.
  • Share your expertise with team members, helping build capability and consistent estimating practices.

About You

You enjoy combining technical detail with practical commercial thinking. You can move between plans, pricing, systems and conversations without losing sight of what matters to the customer or the business.
You’ll thrive in a team that values straightforward communication, shared accountability and people who are willing to help each other succeed. You’re comfortable working through competing priorities, asking the right questions and constructively influencing stakeholders to reach a sound outcome.
You bring a calm, organised approach to a fast-moving environment and take pride in producing accurate work. You’re also curious about the market and motivated to keep building your knowledge of products, suppliers, construction practices and pricing.

What you’ll need

  • Ideally you can bring experience working in a Frame & Truss environment, ideally across estimating, detailing or both.
  • Experience interpreting residential and commercial construction plans and specifications.
  • A practical understanding of construction methods, project stages and tendering processes.
  • Experience coordinating workflows and managing customer commitments in a busy operational setting.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to develop accurate and competitive quotes.
  • Confidence analysing performance, pricing or design information.
  • Effective communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Experience guiding a team, sharing knowledge and supporting capability development.
  • Confidence using business systems and Microsoft Office. Experience with Oracle, COS or commercial CRM platforms would be helpful.
Ready to bring your estimating experience to a team where your work makes a real difference? Apply now and help us shape what’s next.
