Forklift Operator

Principal Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently, follow all safety protocols and procedures. Comply with safety regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to property or goods.
• Load, unload, and transport materials, products, and inventory by forklift and other equipment. Handle goods carefully to avoid damage and ensure proper placement in storage areas, racks or trucks.
• Support inventory management including cycle counting, stock replenishment and order picking. Maintain accurate records of inventory movement to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Conduct routine pre-shift inspections, fluid checks and minor maintenance for forklifts and material handling equipment. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
• Handle materials and products in line with quality standards. Ensure proper storage and handling to protect product integrity and avoid contamination or damage.
• Communicate with supervisors and teammates to coordinate workflows, prioritize tasks and resolve issues related to material handling.
• Attend safety training sessions to improve knowledge of forklift operation, safety procedures and best practices. Keep up to date with safety compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with other forklift operators and warehouse staff to meet production targets and deadlines, maintain smooth daily operations and build a positive team environment.
• Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, reduce waste and improve productivity in material handling activities.
• Respond to emergencies such as spills, accidents or equipment breakdowns. Follow emergency procedures to protect yourself and other onsite personnel.

Required Skills

• High school, vocational training or equivalent is preferred
• Basic computer skills, familiar with MS Office. Able to perform simple data entry, fill in inventory logs and verify warehouse documents accurately.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Able to sit, stand and type for extended periods
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination regularly required
• Frequently perform tasks and handle items below, at, and above shoulder level
• Able to communicate ideas and information clearly
• Able to exchange accurate information
• Close visual ability to read documents and details within a few feet
• Work in manufacturing / warehouse environment
• Regularly operate forklift and other production equipment
• Noise level in workplace is moderate
