How You Will Do It
- Design medium to high complexity fire suppression system solutions in support of sales opportunities.
- Develop system layouts, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation using AutoCAD, BIM, and other engineering design tools.
- Review customer requirements, project specifications, and applicable industry standards to create compliant solutions.
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical support during customer meetings, presentations, and bid submissions.
- Produce accurate engineering estimates and technical proposals to support project delivery.
- Conduct design reviews and quality control checks to ensure engineering deliverables meet company standards.
- Liaise with customers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to optimise solution design and project outcomes.
- Support value engineering initiatives to improve system performance and cost efficiency.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Stay current with fire suppression technologies, regulations, and industry best practices.
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in fire suppression, life safety, or related systems design.
- Strong experience designing medium to high complexity fire suppression systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM, and other engineering design applications.
- Strong understanding of fire suppression system standards, codes, and regulations.
- Experience producing technical drawings, calculations, and project documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop other engineers.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting pre-sales, bid, or proposal activities.
- Knowledge of special hazard suppression systems and emerging fire protection technologies.
- Professional engineering registration or relevant industry certifications.
- Experience working within a global engineering or building technologies environment.
