Job Summary:

 The Fire/Sprinkler Helper provides field support for fire alarm and sprinkler inspection and service activities. This role works in partnership with inspectors and service technicians to support jobsite preparation, material handling, tool and equipment organization, and completion of assigned field tasks. The position contributes to safe, efficient, and professional execution of Fire service work at customer locations. Primary Responsibilities

• Support fire alarm and sprinkler inspectors and service technicians with daily field operations.
• Assist with jobsite setup and cleanup, including staging tools, materials, and equipment.
• Handle materials, parts, and equipment needed to support inspection and service work.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas in accordance with company safety expectations.
• Travel to customer sites as assigned and assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and tools.
• Follow direction from experienced field personnel and complete assigned support tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain professional conduct and positive customer interaction while representing Johnson Controls at customer sites.
• Support compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and required training.
• Assist in maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Fire service operations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work in a field-based environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn inspection and service support activities.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move tools, materials, and equipment consistent with job requirements.
• Ability to work safely in accordance with all applicable safety requirements.
• Valid driver’s license may be required based on business needs and job responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction, field service, maintenance, inspection support, or a related environment.
• Interest in developing knowledge of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
• Dependable work habits, strong attendance, and willingness to support multiple field functions.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily performed in the field at customer and jobsite locations. The position may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, lifting materials, and working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions. Additional Expectations The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, dependability, and continuous learning while supporting both inspection and service activities across the Fire team. 

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $15-20 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
