Purpose of the role

To provide support to the Chief Risk Officer(S) in the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the bank's risk management framework across various business units and functions.

Accountabilities

• Implementation support of risk management policies, standards, procedures, and controls across the bank.
• Asessment and promotion of risk management awareness and risk controls and culture.
• Review, challenge and monitoring of the effectiveness of existing risk management practices and identifying areas for improvement.
• Identification of new and emerging risks, and assessing the likelihood and impact of identified risks, and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Management and operation of associated committees, forum and meetings.
• Maintenance of risk inventories and governance documentation.

Join us as a Financial Crime Training Specialist on a 12 month secondment/ FTC within the Investment Bank and International Corporate Banking Business, where you will be supporting the Head of Policy and Training in implementing policy requirements across the business and delivering the financial crime compliance training and comms for our front office stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• An understanding of financial crime risk in an investment banking environment, including AML, sanctions, and ABC requirements.
• Knowledge of how 1LoD financial crime controls operate (KYC/CDD, transaction due diligence, sanctions screening, escalations).
• Demonstrable experience in delivering financial crime or compliance training to front-office and operational audiences.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to engage senior stakeholders and explain complex topics clearly.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions (Compliance, Risk, HR, Operations, Front Office).
• Data-driven mindset with ability to interpret MI and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Experience using learning technology platforms or digital training tools.

Desirable skills include:

• Experience in a 1LoD Financial Crime, Business Control, or Compliance Advisory role within an investment bank.
• Familiarity with global financial crime regulations and regulatory expectations (FCA, PRA, OFAC, FATF, EU, MAS, etc.).
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ICA Diploma in AML, ACAMS, or equivalent).

This role is located in London or Birmingham and is a 12 month secondment/ FTC.
