Purpose
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Accounting – Program Manager for PCI Compliance and Merchant Services, the Financial Analyst – Merchant Services Specialist provides high-level support to UT Austin’s Cash Management and Treasury teams, with an emphasis on supporting PCI Compliance and Merchant Services.
Responsibilities
Merchant Services
- Provide tier-one support to The University of Texas at Austin’s 200+ credit card merchants, including but not limited to new merchant setup and onboarding, user administration, and assistance with completion of annual compliance activities.
- Serve as one of two administrators of the University’s TouchNet Marketplace eCommerce platform, including creating new marketplace stores and troubleshooting issues with existing stores.
- Assist with the implementation of TouchNet Marketplace uPay and Marketplace POS systems
- Manage the collection and tracking of documentation required to ensure that all entities involved in payment processing on behalf of the university – including departments maintaining bespoke applications and current and potential third-party service providers – are in full compliance with PCI DSS.
- Provide guidance to CSUs looking to accept credit cards, with an emphasis on finding ideal solutions that exist within the University’s existing eCommerce portfolio.
- Create and maintain both team-internal and user-facing documentation and resources for campus credit card operations.
- Under the direction of the Program Manager for PCI Compliance and Merchant services, assist with audits of merchant card handling practices in accordance with requirements set forth in the PCI DSS.
Cash Management and Treasury Operations
- Assist Director with various projects including revolving eligible payments from state appropriations with an initial emphasis on Available University Funds.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration and at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting with experience in planning, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to track multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, training materials, and presentations targeting both business and technical audiences.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals with varying skills and backgrounds at all levels within a complex and decentralized organization.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with software and applications necessary for written communication and cloud-based storage and communication (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Box).
- Familiarity with PCI DSS and University of Texas, UT System, and State of Texas regulations regarding credit card collections.
- PCIP, ISA, or QSA certification.
- Thorough knowledge of PCI compliance standards, including demonstrated experience performing PCI compliance assessments, evaluations, and remediation.
- Previous experience working in a university setting and/or other public sector experience.
- Experience working with vendors and key internal stakeholders (e.g. Information Security Office, ITS Networking, Procurement and Payment Services) at The University of Texas at Austin or in another university setting.
- Experience with TouchNet Marketplace or other higher education-focused eCommerce systems such as Nelnet, CASHNet, or Flywire.
Salary Range
- $60,000+ depending on qualifications
