We are looking for a Finance Solutions Developer to join our Finance & Analytics team, based at our Centre of Excellence in Pune, India. This is an opportunity to build the digital tools that power Finance process improvement across a global organisation - turning structured requirements into working applications that Finance teams rely on every day. If you are a resourceful builder with enough Finance understanding to validate your own output, who thrives on shipping practical solutions quickly, we want to hear from you.
About the role
Our Finance & Analytics team sits at the centre of Sulzer’s effort to standardise and improve Finance processes globally. We develop and roll out digital tools that support month-end close, cost controlling, and financial reporting across our legal entities - and we are growing our capability in Pune to meet an expanding project agenda.
As Finance Solutions Developer, your primary contribution is building and maintaining the applications and automations that our Finance processes depend on. You will take well-structured briefs from functional colleagues and turn them into working solutions on the Power Platform – and you will be expected to experiment with emerging tools, including AI-assisted development, to deliver faster and smarter. This is a hands-on building role in a team that values independence, curiosity, and a bias toward action.
Your key responsibilities
- Build and maintain Finance applications: Develop, configure, and maintain Power Apps, SharePoint List, and Power Automate–based solutions that support knowledge transfer and month-end closing process coordination across Sulzer’s legal entities
- Translate briefs into working solutions: Take structured requirements from functional colleagues and deliver tested, deployable applications - owning the build from brief through development, testing, and deployment
- Experiment with emerging development approaches: Apply AI-assisted development and low-code/no-code tools to accelerate delivery - you are expected to try new approaches, iterate fast, and ship working solutions rather than wait for a pixel-perfect specification
- Collaborate with the BI and functional teams: Work closely with the BI development team, Finance stakeholders, and the broader Finance & Analytics team across multiple time zones - ensuring your solutions integrate cleanly with the wider data and reporting environment
- Support continuous improvement: Maintain and improve existing tools based on user feedback, contribute to documentation, and help scale solutions across new entity rollouts
What you’ll need to succeed
MUST HAVE - EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 2–3 years’ experience in a Finance-adjacent data or development role - enough to understand cost centres, intercompany logic, trial balances, and month-end close without everything being explained
- Power Apps, SharePoint Lists, and Power Automate as a primary development stack – proven ability to build and maintain workflow applications, not just prototypes
- Comfort with AI-assisted development and low-code/no-code approaches - someone who experiments, iterates fast, and ships working solutions
- Ability to take a structured brief and deliver a working solution independently, including testing and deployment
MUST HAVE - SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Resourceful problem-solving - you find ways to make things work with the tools available, rather than waiting for ideal conditions
- Good communication skills in English to a professional standard - able to work with functional colleagues, BI developers, and Finance stakeholders across cultures
SHOULD HAVE / NICE TO HAVE
- University degree in Finance, IT, Business Administration, or a related field
- Exposure to Qlik or other BI and analytics platforms - not as primary developer, but enough to understand data models and collaborate with a BI team
- Experience with broader data environments (ERP data, SQL, data transformation logic)
- Familiarity with version control or structured development practices
- Experience working across geographies and time zones
- Manufacturing or industrial sector background
