Field Service Site Supervisor – Germany 

At JBT Marel, we are looking for a Field Service Site Supervisor based in Germany to oversee equipment installations, start-up activities and preventive maintenance agreements at customer sites around the world. 

This is an international, hands-on role for someone with a strong electrical background, a practical mindset and the confidence to work independently. You will coordinate local contractors and customer crews, take ownership of complex site challenges and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards. 

The role involves global travel for approximately 160–210 days per year, with assignments typically lasting between 2 and 8 weeks away from home. 

What You'll Be Doing

• Supervising equipment installations, start-up activities and preventive maintenance agreements at customer sites worldwide. 

• Coordinating and overseeing field service engineers, local contractors and customer crews to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. 

• Ensuring compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards throughout project execution. 

• Conducting pre-installation site visits to verify site layouts, technical requirements and customer readiness. 

• Managing schedules, resources and priorities while independently resolving complex technical and logistical challenges. 

• Communicating project progress, issues and requirements to customers, project management and internal stakeholders, preparing reports and documenting lessons learned. 

• Providing technical guidance to less experienced colleagues, supporting their development and contributing to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. 

Experience & Education

• A strong electrical background is essential, supported by in-depth knowledge of electrical systems and a basic understanding of related technical disciplines. 

• Experience in field service, site supervision, equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance engineering or a similar technical role. 

• Experience coordinating contractors, customer teams or technical personnel on-site. 

• The ability to troubleshoot complex problems, make sound decisions and work independently with minimal guidance. 

• Experience leading project activities, supporting less experienced colleagues and contributing to process improvements. 

• Excellent written and verbal English is mandatory. 

• Willingness and ability to travel globally for 160–210 days per year, including assignments of 2–8 weeks away from home. 
• Previous experience in the food processing or industrial machinery sector would be advantageous.
