As a Field Service Engineer, you will be a key technical resource supporting Agilent’s Molecular Diagnostic and other Bio-Molecular systems. You’ll work in a variety of laboratory environments, applying your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer-first mindset to ensure optimal instrument performance and customer satisfaction.

The position responsibilities will include:

• Perform on-site installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of Agilent and third-party systems, including hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems
• Optimize system configurations and troubleshoot performance issues
• Deliver preventive maintenance, upgrades, and emergency repairs
• Respond promptly to service requests and proactively communicate with customers throughout the service process
• Advise customers on preventive maintenance and configuration best practices to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with managers and sales teams to align service delivery with customer expectations
• Maintain compliance with Agilent policies and uphold our reputation for exceptional customer service
• Provide feedback to Product Specialists, manufacturing teams, and OEM vendors regarding performance anomalies
• Document service activities, time, and expenses accurately in SAP and other systems
• Train customers and fellow engineers on equipment operation and maintenance
• Support complaint handling and quality systems as required

Territory Coverage:

• The ideal candidate should reside within approximately a 60-mile radius of the greater Philadelphia area.
• Ability to travel Monday through Friday throughout the territory to visit customer sites as necessary.
• Candidates must be available for weekly overnight stays and occasional weekend travel, as needed by customers.
• Travel requirements may reach up to 25%.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline—such as chemistry, analytical sciences, biomedical engineering—or equivalent education and experience.
• Candidates with experience in a similar position as a field service engineer, or in cell-based assays, or biological automation instrumentation, are a plus.
• Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving is required!
• Verbal and written communication is clear, respectful, and timely
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• The ability to visit customers' sites, including working some overtime, possible weekends, and/or overnight travel as needed, is required.

 

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least September 29, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $28.85 - $45.07/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
