Join Bright Horizons as a Field Administrative Assistant, where your administrative expertise and customer service skills will help support children, families, and staff across a group of our centers and schools.

In this role, you’ll help keep centers connected and running smoothly by supporting communications, records, systems, and day-to-day administrative needs. You’ll build positive relationships with families and staff, provide a warm and professional experience, and step in where your support is needed most. You’ll do rewarding work then receive big smiles and enthusiastic goodbye waves from little ones at the end of each day.   

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support across a group of centers or schools, including communications, calendars, reports, records, and special projects

• Ensure licensing, attendance, payroll, and other files are current, confidential, and secure

• Deliver welcoming, responsive customer service to prospective and enrolled families, staff, clients, and visitors

• Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment and provide support throughout centers as needed

Qualifications:

Candidates must pass required state and company background checks and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements:  

• 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred
• Office experience preferred, with strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and data entry, with the ability to learn new technology and systems
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and maintain confidentiality
• Must be willing to commute at least 1.5 hours each way to a center/school for temporary assignment. Mileage beyond 10 miles each way or 20 miles round trip will be reimbursed

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the employee to comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons’, and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training.

If hired, you will work in person in an early education/preschool child care center per Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures and guidance, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations, and in a manner that will ensure the safety of children in Bright Horizons care and the employee.

• Frequently lift, move, or hold children with a range of weight from 10 to 40 pounds; occasionally lift, move, or hold weight more than 40 pounds
• Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and otherwise fully participate in activities
• Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
• Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements

This position requires in-person work in the Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island City, and the Bronx New York area.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is between $17.16- 23.17 per hour per hour. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
