Job Summary:

The Data Science intern will work within the Business Intelligence department and will collaborate with business operations teams to help drive efficiencies by identifying patterns, predicting outcomes, and providing actionable insights for our organization. To do this, they will collect, clean, model, and analyze data using machine learning, data engineering, and statistical analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and improvement of dynamic ticket pricing models for sports properties, including basketball, ice hockey, and soccer
• Analyze ticketing, event, and market data to identify trends and opportunities to improve pricing recommendations
• Develop, test, and evaluate machine learning and statistical models to optimize pricing strategies and solve business challenges
• Build monitoring tools, dashboards, and visualizations to track model performance and business impact
• Partner closely with the data science mentor to complete and present a final project
• Proactively identify innovative data science opportunities that drive business growth and enhance strategic decision-making

Qualifications

• To be eligible for this internship, you must be a current student pursuing an MS degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Prior internship, work, or project experience in a related field
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake is a plus
• Strong programming proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization
• Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques
• Highly organized, resourceful, and dependable, with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Desire to learn more about the sports and entertainment industry
• The AEG Internship Program requires a minimum commitment of 18 hours per week during the fall.

Pay Range: $19.00-21.00

Location: Los Angeles (On-Site)

Bonus: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
