Reporting to the Facilities Director, the Facilities Technician will be responsible for maintenance, repair and upkeep of buildings and offices to ensure that IOA facilities are clean, safe and functional for its clients, employees and visitors. Respond to building emergencies and perform tasks after hours or weekends as needed.
  • Performs regular inspections of IOA facilities to identify, report and respond to issues concerning its buildings, offices, or equipment.

  • Responds to work requests via department ticketing system as directed by Building Manager and/or Director of Facilities.

  • Performs minor plumbing or basic electrical repairs, minor equipment repairs and responds to afterhours emergencies as needed.

  • Inspects and replaces light bulbs, emergency lights in all facilities, as needed.

  • Performs monthly general inspection of building equipment such as boilers, water pumps, hvac, sewage systems, commercial kitchen appliances and fire extinguisher and report findings to Building Manager.A Assists with departmental or employee workstation moves.

  • Hangs bulletin board, pictures, other building accessories, as needed.

  • Dismantles, assembles and installs furniture (including cubicles).

  • Installs office or some building signage.

  • Rearranges furniture and prepares meeting rooms, hangs/removes decorations for events on and off site including transport of items and supplies.

  • Receives, transports and distributes packages and supplies to departments.

  • Participates in cleaning duties and provides back up coverage to Day Porter as necessary.

  • Transports items to offsite storage and keeps storage units and other areas organized and free of debris.

  • Receive and restock janitorial supplies.

  • Replace drinking water bottles as needed and inspect filtration units.

  • Clean and maintain trash bins, put out/return bins on scheduled trash days.

  • Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Building Manager or Director of Facilities.

  • Job responsibilities include but are not limited to those described, and additional duties and projects may be assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate professionally with employees, contractors and vendors.

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality is necessary.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and, manage time, plan coordinate and handle multiple projects.

  • Ability to follow through task to completion. 

  • Must be able to work independently while demonstrating cooperation and flexibility.

  • Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools.

  • Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately.

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must be able to travel to various office sites as needed.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and know how to use pallet jack.

  • Schedule may include evening, nights or weekends. Also, may require work during early mornings for building repairs.

  • Ability to multi-task and work both independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and know how to use a pallet jack.

  • Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder of 8-10 feet. 

  • The person in this position routinely moves furniture and boxes during event/meeting set ups, remove or rearrange furniture, or perform other duties mentioned above.

COMPENSATION:

Range: $ 29 - $32.50/hour

This amount is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee, which is always dependent on actual experience, education and other factors.

This range does not include any additional equity, benefits, or other non-monetary compensation which may be included
