- Serve as a technical owner for fire alarm, mass notification, emergency communication, and life safety systems.
- Review of vendor provided design drawings and specifications for completeness, accuracy and adherence to all applicable design and safety standards and codes including NFPA 72, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, IFC, IBC, and FM Global requirements.
- Review system configurations, equipment layouts, and distribution routing to ensure functionality, life safety compliance, proper egress, maintainability, constructability, and alignment with P&IDs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, design, construction, Facilities, EHS, IT, Security, and vendor teams to achieve project objectives.
- Apply critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills to Identify, develop, propose, and implement cost effective plans that improve overall equipment and system efficiencies.
- Support design, installation, testing, commissioning, and sustaining operations of life safety systems.
- Develop and maintain engineering, operations, and maintenance documentation.
- Troubleshoot system issues, analyze system performance data, and drive reliability improvements through continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, controls, or related engineering fields.
- 2 years of experience as a facilities life safety systems engineer within an industrial environment.
- Technical knowledge of fire detection, fire alarm, suppression, mass notification, emergency communication, and life safety systems.
- Experience with instrumentation and controls, including sensor integration, control panels, and I/O systems.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 2001, IBC, IFC, and applicable FM Global requirements. Proficient in reviewing schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment specs, and network layouts.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ Years of experience within the Semiconductor Industry.
- Familiarity with smart building technologies, including IoT-enabled fire detection, intelligent suppression systems, and integrated emergency communication platforms.
- Professional certifications such as NICET Fire Alarm Systems (Level III or IV preferred) or Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
- Strong understanding of system interoperability and integration with facility-wide platforms such as SCADA, BMS, and DCIM systems.
- Experience using engineering and design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks, Siemens, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, Johnson Controls, or similar fire alarm platforms. Interest or experience in embracing agentic AI to improve engineering and operational processes.
