Position Summary
The raw materials and cost conductor manages the budget and spending for the Metals department to make sure the fab has exactly what it needs to run without overspending. They handle the day-to-day tracking of spares, repairs, and raw materials, while coordinating with finance and engineering to secure additional funding when necessary. Beyond daily tracking, they analyze spending trends and present cost reports to leadership and executive management to ensure we hit our monthly KPIs.They will work hand in hand with equipment engineering to forecast all raw materials for the department, managing inventory in order to eliminate expiring material while ensuring adequate inventory to maintain production. Additionally, Samsung uses a proprietary materials ordering and tracking that the conductor will setup and maintain.
Role and Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Monitor spending per self-directed work team in spares, repair & maintenance and raw materials categories.
Manage department budgets.
Audit purchase requests for optimal inventory balance.
Monitor cost savings projects to make sure they are accurate and up to date on status. Self-generate projects as well.
Setup new and audit repaired parts loops. Look for new opportunities to repair or second source OEM parts.
Collect expenses, dept. projects cost, high dollar parts purchase planning data for monthly budget proposal.
Oversee engineering test plans related to cost reduction activities.
Meet with vendors to negotiate service contracts. Manage payments to vendors via field service contacts.
Prepare and present monthly cost updates to fab engineering leadership.
Work with equipment engineering to forecast raw materials.
Manage raw materials inventory and in fab storage.
Develop systems to streamline both cost and raw materials aspects of the job role.
Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
A minimum three years of experience in inventory management or cost management.
Experience in creating cost projections and performing variance analysis.
Expertise in MS office.
Public speaking and communication skills.
Previous logistics and vendor management is a plus.
The current base salary range for this role is between $84,000 - $135,000 .Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
