Sobre este puesto de Engineering Delivery Manager en Accenture Federal Services
You are:
A people and delivery leader who creates the conditions for engineering teams to deliver client outcomes with consistency, quality, and pace. You understand modern software and platform delivery well enough to lead technical organizations effectively, but your primary focus is people leadership, delivery execution, team health, resourcing, risk, and outcomes rather than hands-on engineering. This opportunity spans a range of experienced delivery-management scope. Depending on your background, you may lead a team or major workstream or manage multiple teams and a broader delivery area. As your scope grows, you may move toward portfolio-level ownership of delivery, manager-of-manager leadership, delivery excellence standards, talent strategy, and capability-wide operating models.
The work:
- Lead engineering teams or delivery workstreams across planning, execution, scope, schedule, risk, dependencies, quality, staffing, and client/program outcomes.
- Establish clear delivery rhythms, priorities, accountability, status reporting, metrics, escalation paths, and decision-making practices.
- Support or lead staffing and capacity planning, role alignment, team composition, onboarding, utilization, and resource coordination.
- Coach and develop engineers, technical leads, delivery leads, Scrum Masters, Product Managers, and other team members; support team health and performance conversations.
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies and partner with Product Managers, Enterprise Architects, engineering leads, Quality Engineers, Cloud Platform Engineers, security teams, and program leadership.
- Identify delivery risks early, facilitate resolution of blockers, manage escalations, and communicate tradeoffs and recommendations to client and internal stakeholders.
- Drive adoption of modern engineering, DevSecOps, quality, product/platform, and AFS-approved AI-assisted delivery practices that improve productivity and outcomes.
- Use delivery data and team insights to improve operating models, engineering effectiveness, predictability, quality, and continuous improvement.
- At broader scope, lead multiple teams, develop managers and leads, shape capacity and talent strategies, and establish delivery standards across programs or portfolios.
Here’s what you need:
- Professional experience leading engineering delivery, technical teams, software/platform workstreams, or comparable people and delivery functions, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience managing scope, schedule, risk, dependencies, staffing/capacity, stakeholder expectations, and multi-disciplinary delivery.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing engineers, leads, Agile practitioners, Product Managers, or delivery teams.
- Working understanding of Agile delivery, DevSecOps, software quality practices, product/platform engineering, and modern software development operating models.
- Strong communication, facilitation, conflict-resolution, stakeholder-management, and client-facing skills.
- Demonstrated judgment in prioritizing work, resolving delivery issues, communicating risk, and improving team outcomes.
- For candidates with deeper experience, demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams or larger delivery areas, develop managers/leads, coordinate complex dependencies, and influence delivery practices across teams.
Bonus points if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience leading distributed teams, federal delivery programs, modernization efforts, or large software/platform initiatives.
- Experience with capacity planning, staffing models, skills matrices, performance management, hiring, career development, or manager-of-manager leadership.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, Confluence, delivery dashboards, portfolio tools, or executive status reporting.
- PMP, SAFe, Scrum, Agile, cloud, DevOps, or engineering leadership certification.
- Experience enabling AI adoption, delivery transformation, engineering productivity improvement, or delivery operating-model change.
Eligibility Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to work with federal clients and comply with applicable AFS, client, security, and program requirements.
- Ability to work in a hybrid, remote, or client-site environment as program needs require.
