Introduction
As an Engineer I, Systems Reliability Engineer on our Foundations/Job Scheduling team, you'll help keep enterprise batch job scheduling and workload automation running reliably, so the business processes that depend on it never miss a beat. You'll report to the Operations Lead, Foundations/Job Scheduling (LATAM), and work alongside a team of peer Operations Engineers, partnering closely with application and infrastructure teams across the business. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role focused on day-to-day production support, incident resolution, and continuous improvement.
About the Job
- Provide end-to-end production support for our enterprise job scheduling and workload automation systems, resolving incidents quickly and getting to root cause to keep services stable.
- Triage and resolve issues with failed, delayed, or stuck batch jobs — including high-priority incidents — coordinating with other teams and contributing to postmortem documentation.
- Monitor job schedules, batch health, and alerts, proactively flagging jobs at risk and escalating issues before they cause downstream disruption.
- Create and maintain clear support documentation, runbooks, and standard procedures that help the team deliver consistent, reliable service.
- Partner with application, infrastructure, and business teams to align on schedules, dependencies, and planned changes, and help strengthen how the team manages incidents and changes.
About You
- 3+ years of experience in IT production support or application operations, with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience supporting an enterprise job scheduling or workload automation platform, such as HCL Workload Automation, Control-M, or AutoSys.
- Working knowledge of batch job dependencies and calendars, and how upstream and downstream systems rely on scheduled jobs.
- Solid understanding of core ITSM practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Comfortable staying calm and methodical during live incidents, with good judgment on when and how to escalate.
