Field Applications Engineer

About the Role
As a Field Applications Engineer at ADI, you will provide technical expertise to support sales efforts through presentations, product demonstrations, and development of customized solutions. You will act as a technical consultant bridging sales strategy and customer needs, supporting pre-sales activities including customer needs assessment, solution development, and product validation. This role requires strong technical skills combined with customer-facing abilities to drive design-ins and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Modify evaluation boards to meet customer design requirements.
• Evaluate and characterize analog and mixed-signal circuits to validate performance.
• Provide technical support to customers and field application engineers.
• Design and debug customer application circuits.
• Design and debug demonstration boards, including layout supervision.
• Support existing products throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop technical articles, reference designs, and application notes.
• Build and maintain strategic customer relationships.

Must Have Skills

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power electronics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid background in analog and power-electronics circuit analysis and design.
• Thorough understanding of power-conversion topologies, including switch-mode and multiphase power, as well as modeling and control techniques.
• Hands-on experience in multiphase power or computing power development for servers, laptops, or desktops.
• Good understanding of magnetic components, filter design, and EMI mitigation.
• Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools such as SPICE, Mathcad, MATLAB, or equivalent.
• Practical knowledge of component parasitics, thermal design, and EMI considerations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience supporting data center ODM customers and markets.
