Job Summary

The Endocrinology and Metabolism Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, and osteoporosis.

Essential Functions:

• Conducting patient consultations, medical evaluations, and diagnostic tests to determine the underlying causes of endocrine and metabolic disorders (20%)
• Creating and implementing personalized treatment plans for patients, which may include medication, lifestyle changes, and hormone therapy (20%)
• Conducting follow-up appointments to monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary (20%)
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as dietitians and diabetes educators, to provide comprehensive care for patients (10%)
• Participating in clinical research studies to advance our understanding of endocrine and metabolic disorders and treatment options (10%)
• Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in endocrinology and metabolism research and treatment options (10%)
• Provide teaching and training of medical students, house staff and fellows, attending for the Endocrinology Division, and involvement in clinical research protocols. (10%)

Education:

• Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution Required and
• Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program Completion of a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism
  Required

Licenses:

• MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required and
• BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
• Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
• Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
• Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
• Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Computer skills required.
