Leidos is seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
This position will support a critical defense program by leading the concept development, planning, budgeting, and activation of a production facility. The facility will be a Leidos Defense Sector manufacturing facility and will support the ramp-up of a major defense program in our portfolio. The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate with Manufacturing and Program stakeholders to determine the work content to be performed at the facility. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead planning activities, in conjunction with Corporate Facilities, related to non-recurring construction planning and execution.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following
- Help define the facility concept of operations (CONOPS), facility layout, material flow, production tooling/equipment requirements and the inventory management approach for the facility.
- Supporting production of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s) and electromechanical assemblies and systems. Applicant will work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop a wide variety of hardware, and work with the latest automated technology used in assembly and test equipment.
- Candidate will support tasks such as review and approval of engineering drawings, bills of materials, customer quality requirements, and work instructions; participation in design reviews; and execution of manufacturing activities.
- Candidate will be required to work closely with the design team to complete all details of the design, to prepare the design for release to manufacturing.
- Working closely with our quality team to develop processes that validate customer quality requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Aeronautical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 4-8 years of prior relevant work experience or a Masters degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in PCBA or Electro-Mechanical Assembly
- Candidate must be a U.S Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a final secret security clearance

- Proficiency in writing clear and concise work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in PCBA or Electro-Mechanical Assembly.
- Process development and production support of PCBA or Electro-Mechanical Assembly
- Experience with Solumina, Windchill, MES systems, and SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing industries.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments and lead process improvement initiatives

Pay Range:
Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
