SCOPE

Perform various duties required to fabricate wiring harnesses and install components, circuit modules, relays, diodes, and harnesses in a variety of assemblies and chassis units for all types of electronic and electromechanical products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform various duties required to fabricate wiring harnesses and install components, circuit modules, relays, diodes, and harnesses in a variety of assemblies and chassis units for all types of electronic and electromechanical products.
• Perform mechanical assembly and wiring of electrical control panels, AC/DC drives, motors, and other devices.
• Design and fabricate electrical boxes for the installation of components.
• Drill, edge fill, fit, and assemble a variety of detail parts and assemblies, including cutting openings in bodies to accommodate wiring and components using hand and power tools.
• Inspect installations for proper fit and integrity.
• Use general and precision tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Maintain necessary documentation and records.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Perform assembly operations on structural and mechanical subassemblies, equipment, and accessories.
• Perform other work as assigned.

• Perform or assist with production operations as required or directed to maintain workflow or respond to production requirements.

WHAT A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ELECTRICIAN LOOKS LIKE

• Assemble under-dash harnesses, switch panels, circuit boards, and a variety of electrical components.
• Program lights according to engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot 12V DC and 110V AC circuitry.
• Test products to ensure performance meets specifications.
• Read specifications to ensure trucks are built according to requirements.
• Perform functionality checks on air horns, sirens, light packages, flash patterns, door locks, and other electrical components.
• Identify and correct quality issues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• Preferred: 1–2 years of automotive electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts, along with written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to understand both 12V DC and 110V AC circuitry.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools, such as drills and screw guns.
• Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at the level required for successful job performance.
• Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Successful completion of drug and background screening.
