We are seeking an Engineering Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role you will plan and executes a variety of complex tasks involved in selecting appropriate equipment and procedures to functionally check and troubleshoot repair, transformation, and/or modification of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical units and in the maintenance, modification, programming, diagnosis, repair, and calibration of equipment, instrumentation, systems and components of test systems, control equipment, work standards, and associated equipment and schedules equipment for testing depending on the assigned area to maintain workflow by implementing and complying with EH&S directions and procedures.
This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What You Will Do
- Provide advanced technical support for engineering projects, including testing, programming, validation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems, components, or equipment.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, schematics, and documentation for engineering projects.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to support project goals and timelines.
- Provide input and feedback on design improvements and process optimizations.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Participate in investigations or troubleshooting process or quality defects. Participate in Real-Time Problem Resolution (RTRP) exercises and be able to execute them with minimal supervision.
- Review and optimize critical process equipment and process parameters to ensure optimal operation.
- Validate the first piece to ensure run integrity.
- Identify potential mechanical defects as part of root cause analysis for issues such as machine scrap, misaligned components, missing components, coplanarity, solderability, coating application, among others.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Education or training in electronics, mechatronics, electromechanics, automation, or a related technical field, with experience in electronic component manufacturing or PCB/SMT processes.
- Strong proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specification diagrams, and GD&T, with the ability to analyze and detect potential component issues.
- Hands-on mechanical/electrical aptitude, including troubleshooting of SMT equipment such as paste printers, pick & place systems, SPI, AOI, X‑ray, and PARMI.
- Experience operating or programming CNC and other precision machinery, as applicable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while working effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word) and familiarity with continuous improvement principles (CORE or similar).
