ANA is headquartered in Henderson, Nevada, with locations in Cypress, California and Spartanburg, South Carolina. ANA is growing and scaling, and we are seeking an Electrical Compliance Engineer in an onsite position in Henderson, Nevada.

We are seeking a hands-on, well-rounded Electrical Engineer to support the development of next-generation hybrid power generation and energy systems. This role contributes across the full product-development cycle, from requirements and electrical architecture through component selection, schematic and harness design, prototype build, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.

The ideal candidate has experience developing automotive, off-highway, mobile-equipment, or industrial electrical systems. Experience with power generation, energy storage, high-voltage batteries, power electronics, or hybrid/electric systems is strongly preferred. This position works closely with mechanical, controls/software, manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, and test teams to turn system requirements into reliable, serviceable products.

The position is fully onsite, and the work schedule is weekdays from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This role reports to the Electrical Systems Engineer.

Role & Responsibilities:

Electrical System Design & Integration:

  • Develop and refine low-voltage and high-voltage electrical architectures, including power distribution, grounding and bonding, circuit protection, controls, I/O, and communications.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, connector pinouts, interface-control documentation, and bills of material.
  • Select and specify electrical components such as batteries, inverters and motor drives, generators/alternators, DC/DC converters, contactors, relays, fuses, sensors, connectors, cables, and system controllers.
  • Perform engineering calculations and design checks for conductor sizing, voltage drop, overcurrent protection, power and energy balance, thermal loading, precharge, and component derating.
  • Integrate electrical and electronic subsystems into prototypes and production-intent equipment, including CAN/J1939-connected devices and embedded controllers.
  • Prototype Development, Test & Troubleshooting:

  • Support hands-on prototype assembly, electrical bring-up, commissioning, and safe testing of low-voltage, high-voltage DC, and three-phase AC systems.
  • Develop and execute verification test plans; collect and analyze data to validate system performance, interfaces, controls, protection functions, and fault response.
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers, power analyzers, CAN tools, data loggers, and related laboratory equipment.
  • Lead root-cause investigations involving power distribution, controls, communications, sensors, harnesses, grounding, and component interactions, then implement and verify corrective actions.
  • Provide engineering support for field issues, manufacturing builds, commissioning, and product improvements as needed.
  • Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Maintain accurate design records and released documentation through revision control and engineering change processes.
  • Participate in system and design reviews with mechanical, controls/software, manufacturing, service, and supply-chain teams.
  • Work directly with suppliers to define requirements, resolve technical issues, evaluate component alternatives, and support product availability and cost targets.
  • Translate test results, field feedback, and lessons learned into improved designs, specifications, work instructions, and validation methods.
  • Safety & Compliance Support:

  • Manage Compliance/Certification projects, interfacing with 3rd party test labs to provide documentation, complete testing, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Support pre-compliance testing, technical documentation, certification activities, and corrective actions in coordination with internal stakeholders and external laboratories.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications:

    Required Experience & Education:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Experience: 1 -3 years of hands-on electrical product-development experience in automotive, off-highway, industrial equipment, controls, power equipment, or a comparable environment.
  • Design capability: Demonstrated ability to develop schematics and wiring designs, interpret component datasheets, size circuits, and select electrical components.
  • Test capability: Practical experience with prototype integration, laboratory testing, structured troubleshooting, and root-cause problem solving.
  • Communication: Ability to document technical work clearly and collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and service teams.
  • Availability: Full-time, on-site presence at our Henderson, NV facility.
  • Technical Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of DC and AC circuits, power distribution, grounding, circuit protection, electrical interfaces, and wire-harness design.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment and the ability to work safely around energized equipment and stored-energy systems.
  • Ability to read, create, and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of an electrical CAD platform such as AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Organized, self-directed approach to managing multiple development tasks in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Preferred Experience:

  • Power generation, energy storage systems, hybrid/electric powertrains, inverters, electric motors/generators, battery management systems, or high-voltage battery packs.
  • Automotive or industrial communications and controls, including CAN, J1939, embedded controllers, or PLC-based systems.
  • High-voltage DC systems, functional safety concepts, design validation, DFMEA, configuration control, or production release processes.
