An internship is a temporary position within Solventum. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern, you will support the coordination and execution of EHS compliance initiatives. This role involves active participation across several areas of EHS, including industrial hygiene, ergonomics, safety and injury prevention, incident investigation, employee engagement, and emergency preparedness. You will play a key role in developing and implementing the annual EHS plan, as well as driving continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing EHS practices and processes to promote a safer workplace. Success in this position requires a proactive, self-motivated individual with strong teamwork capabilities and excellent interpersonal skills.
As a(n) Environmental Health and Safety Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
o Provides support for the Brookings EHS Department on all aspects of the site’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance efforts, including Management of Change (MOC), ergonomics, powered industrial vehicles, process safety, fall
protection, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and emergency response coordination.
o Supports documentation on plant systems to ensure compliance with Solventum requirements, including OSHA regulations, EHS Management Systems, and other applicable programs.
o Assists in achieving departmental and plant Lean Six Sigma targets by leading EHS projects, delivering required EHS training to plant personnel, representing the site during audits by staff groups, and coordinating/training EHS topics.
o Participates in site processes (assessments, engagement) to ensure compliance and continuous improvement of the site’s EHS program.
o Provides EHS support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
· Experience with environmental health and safety course work and internship experience considered
Work location:
Onsite: Brookings South Dakota
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
