Then come join our Sustainable Products & Packaging Strategy team in a temporary position. In this role, you will help shape the LEGO Group's approach to sustainable materials, with a particular focus on resin, influencing strategic decisions that support one of our most important sustainability ambitions.

 

Please note that no relocation assistance is offered for this position.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Leading strategic work on sustainable materials and resin, translating sustainability ambitions, emerging technologies and market developments into clear pathways and recommendations
  • Assessing complex trade-offs and identifying solutions that balance environmental impact, technical feasibility, scalability, and business priorities
  • Developing recommendations and decision materials for senior leaders on topics such as alternative feedstocks, advanced recycling, mass balance, certification, and materials circularity
  • Defining positions, standards, policies, and decision-making principles that guide our approach to sustainable materials
  • Collaborating closely with experts across Sustainability, R&D, Procurement, Operations, and other functions to align perspectives and drive progress
  • Monitoring developments across the wider materials value chain and identifying opportunities for collaboration and strategic partnerships
  • Ensuring our materials strategy remains ambitious, credible, and grounded in the latest science, technology, and market developments
  • Building networks and partnerships across industry, value chains and relevant initiatives to accelerate progress and gain outside-in perspectives

Joining the Sustainable Products & Packaging Strategy team, you will help shape one of the LEGO Group's most important sustainability agendas. We bring together environmental, technical, and commercial perspectives to define the strategic choices that support our long-term sustainability ambitions.

In this role, you will work closely with specialists and senior leaders across the business, helping translate complexity into direction and ensuring we make informed decisions on the future of sustainable materials. Your leadership will contribute directly to advancing our sustainability journey and driving meaningful impact at scale.


Do you have what it takes?

We are looking for a strategic and influential leader who combines sustainability expertise with strong business judgement. You excel in navigating ambiguity, challenging conventional thinking and building alignment.

  • Extensive relevant experience within sustainability, sustainable materials, strategy, or related fields
  • A relevant degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Sustainability, Environmental Science or a related discipline or similar experience
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable materials and circularity, ideally with expertise in plastics and resin systems
  • Familiarity with topics such as alternative feedstocks, advanced recycling, mass balance, certification schemes, and life-cycle assessment
  • Experience developing strategies, positions and recommendations on complex sustainability topics and presenting them to senior decisionmakers
  • Strong influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, commercial and sustainability disciplines
  • Experience from a complex global organisation and/or a leading management consultancy
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear and actionable insights
