Sobre este puesto de Director of Service (Heavy Equipment) en D2B Groups
Our client, a privately held and growing heavy equipment dealership, is seeking a Director of Service to lead aftermarket operations across multiple branches. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who can build scalable processes, develop strong leaders, and drive profitability — while helping the organization prepare for future growth, including new branch openings.
This role is best suited to a leader who has moved beyond managing individual technicians and is ready to lead through other leaders (service managers/supervisors) across a multi-site operation.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Development
• Lead, coach, and develop branch-level service managers/leaders, building a strong bench of talent across locations
• Establish clear performance expectations, accountability structures, and development plans for the leadership team
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and customer-focused service
Process & Systems
• Standardize and improve service processes, workflows, and systems across all branches
• Evaluate and optimize use of service/DMS software and reporting tools to drive consistency and visibility
• Build repeatable, scalable playbooks that can be deployed to new locations as the company grows
Financial & Operational Performance
• Own aftermarket (parts and service) profitability across multiple branches
• Analyze branch-level performance data to identify gaps, trends, and improvement opportunities
• Manage labor efficiency, shop capacity, warranty processes, and service department KPIs
Growth & Expansion
• Partner with executive leadership on planning and operational readiness for new branch openings
• Ensure new locations are set up with the right processes, staffing structure, and systems from day one
Requirements
• 7+ years of progressive experience in heavy equipment or related equipment service operations
• Prior experience leading multiple locations or leading other managers/supervisors (not just direct technician oversight)
• Strong track record improving service department profitability and operational efficiency
• Experience with service/DMS systems and using data to drive decisions
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally to branch locations
