JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The Director of Investor Relations helps develop and execute the company’s investor relations strategy and serves as a key connection between the company and the investment community. The role combines capital-markets judgment, financial analysis, executive communications, investor engagement, digital-platform ownership, and disciplined execution of quarterly earnings and other investor events. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, IT, and external service providers to clearly and consistently communicate financial performance, strategic priorities, growth opportunities, and capital allocation plans while maintaining strong disclosure controls and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Investor and Analyst Engagement

  • Build and maintain credible, long-term relationships with institutional investors, sell-side analysts, and other members of the investment community.

  • Plan and coordinate investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, non-deal roadshows, site visits, and other engagement opportunities, including briefing materials, schedules, logistics, follow-up, and relationship records.

  • Capture investor and analyst feedback, identify recurring themes, and provide concise, actionable market-perception insights to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

  • Support investor targeting, shareholder engagement, and efforts to broaden and strengthen the investor base.

Quarterly Earnings, Disclosures, and Investor Events

  • Manage the end-to-end administrative and operating calendar for quarterly earnings, investor conferences, and other external financial communications.

  • Coordinate with the conference call and webcast provider on scheduling, event setup, speaker and operator details, rehearsals and production testing, dial-in and webcast information, scripts, presentation materials, replay availability, and post-event follow-up.

  • Coordinate with IDX and internal stakeholders to publish and maintain earnings releases, presentations, webcast links, replays, transcripts, SEC filings, and related materials on the investor relations website.

  • Partner with Communications, Legal, Finance, and Accounting on news-release preparation, review, approval, distribution, timing, web posting, and archival requirements.

  • Maintain detailed earnings checklists, approval workflows, distribution lists, contact lists, calendars, and version control to support accurate and timely execution.

  • Develop and review earnings presentations, scripts, Q&A materials, investor presentations, shareholder communications, conference materials, and other external disclosures.

  • Support executive and Board-level materials related to investor messaging, shareholder composition, market perception, and valuation.

IR Technology Platforms and Data Management

  • Own the day-to-day administration, governance, and effective use of the IR technology stack, including Capital Access, AlphaSense, Bloomberg, IDX, and other market-data, shareholder-intelligence, CRM, website, webcast, and workflow platforms.

  • Maintain platform data quality, user access, alerts, watchlists, investor and analyst contacts, meeting histories, targeting lists, dashboards, and standardized reporting outputs.

  • Serve as the primary business contact for IR software and service providers; coordinate training, issue resolution, upgrades, renewals, user requirements, and ongoing optimization with Procurement, IT, Legal, and Finance as appropriate.

  • Integrate data and insights across platforms to improve investor targeting, market monitoring, peer analysis, consensus tracking, engagement reporting, and management decision support.

  • Establish repeatable processes and controls for retaining investor interaction records and supporting accurate, accessible IR information.

Technology Enablement and AI Adoption

  • Demonstrate strong technical systems aptitude and the ability to learn, configure, and optimize complex financial, research, CRM, collaboration, content-management, and analytics tools.

  • Actively evaluate and responsibly adopt new technologies, including artificial intelligence, automation, and workflow tools, to streamline recurring IR responsibilities and improve the speed, consistency, and quality of deliverables.

  • Develop practical AI-enabled use cases for market and peer monitoring, research synthesis, earnings preparation, investor meeting preparation, sentiment and theme analysis, knowledge management, and recurring reporting.

  • Apply appropriate governance, confidentiality, validation, and human-review controls when using AI or automation, particularly for material, confidential, or externally disclosed information.

  • Document improved workflows, share best practices, and help train others on effective technology use.

Market Intelligence and Financial Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, peer performance, analyst research, shareholder activity, trading and valuation metrics, market developments, and emerging investor themes.

  • Analyze investor sentiment, consensus expectations, relative valuation, shareholder composition, and market reaction; translate findings into clear implications and recommended actions.

  • Maintain peer benchmarking, investor targeting, ownership, and market-intelligence analyses used in executive and Board discussions.

  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities that may affect the investment thesis, market position, or external messaging.

Strategy, Governance, and Compliance

  • Support development and execution of the IR strategy, investment narrative, annual engagement plan, and long-term shareholder-development priorities.

  • Partner with Legal and other stakeholders to ensure investor communications and activities comply with SEC, stock exchange, Regulation FD, and company disclosure requirements.

  • Maintain IR policies, procedures, calendars, records, and disclosure controls; support consistent execution across investor-facing channels.

  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling material nonpublic information, confidential business information, investor feedback, and market-sensitive communications.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in Investor Relations, FP&A, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Corporate Development, Equity Research, Investment Banking, or a related capital-markets role.

  • Strong understanding of capital markets, financial statements, valuation methodologies, corporate finance, investor expectations, and public-company disclosure practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, deadline-driven deliverables with strong project management, organizational discipline, attention to detail, and follow-through.

  • Advanced technical and systems skills, with demonstrated proficiency using financial-data, research, CRM, analytics, collaboration, and content-management platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with, or the ability to quickly develop proficiency in, Capital Access, AlphaSense, Bloomberg, IDX, and related IR technologies.

  • Evidence of curiosity and willingness to be an early adopter of emerging technology, including responsible use of AI and automation to improve day-to-day IR workflows.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex financial and strategic information into concise, audience-appropriate messages.

  • Experience preparing materials for senior executives, Board members, investors, and analysts and working across Finance, Accounting, Legal, Communications, IT, and external vendors.

  • High degree of discretion, judgment, professionalism, attention to detail and comfort operating in a fast-paced public-company environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting quarterly earnings calls, investor conferences, roadshows, IR websites, news-release processes, and external disclosure workflows.

  • Experience in the automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or another complex global business environment.

  • CFA, MBA, CPA, or other relevant advanced credential.

Leadership Attributes

  • Strategic and commercially minded, with the ability to connect operating performance, financial outcomes, and investor implications.

  • Confident and credible with senior leaders and external stakeholders while remaining hands-on in execution.

  • Collaborative, responsive, intellectually curious, and committed to continuous improvement.

  • Calm under pressure, with the judgment and precision required for high-visibility, time-sensitive communications.
