PURPOSE

FWD’s Group Digital Team are responsible for designing and developing digital platforms for regional markets within FWD. The team builds new apps, services and features to drive business value. We are looking for a Full Stack Developer who is passionate to change the way people feel about insurance.

The Director, Digital Platforms Delivery plays a pivotal role in driving the successful technical design, delivery, and adoption of FWD’s group digital platforms — including core agency, bancassurance, and customer-facing ecosystems FWD Cube, and other next-generation digital solutions.

This role ensures the timely delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance platforms across FWD’s markets, enabling local execution and consistent digital experiences. The Director will lead cross-market delivery squads, define platform delivery standards, and ensure the right balance between innovation, reliability, and speed-to-market.

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

• Lead end-to-end digital platform delivery for FWD Cube across key markets, ensuring alignment with Group’s Digital and technology strategy.
• Translate business priorities into actionable digital delivery roadmaps and platform capability releases.
• Oversee project portfolio governance, ensuring transparency, risk mitigation, and budget adherence.
• Drive agile delivery excellence, ensuring squads are operating with disciplined sprint planning, velocity tracking, and iterative release management.
• Ensure platforms are designed to support scalability, reliability and efficient maintainability
• Ensure co-ordinated design, development and deployment plans with business functions and technology solutions delivery teams
• Lead multiple cross-functional delivery teams practicing agile
• Provide technology leadership and expertise when defining architectures and selecting tools and technologies
• Ensure software development standards are defined and being followed
• Mobile and server-side development
• Build and lead a high-performing multi-disciplinary delivery organization spanning engineering, product, QA, and DevOps.
• Coach and mentor senior engineering and delivery managers to elevate technical acumen and delivery discipline.
• Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the delivery community.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Computer Science or relevant degree
• Broad technical experience and a deep interest in current and new technologies, cloud hosting, code development and delivery practices
• Experienced at managing development team
• Experience of acting within mature ITIL and agile processes.  A proven ability to implement and/or improve existing processes
• Solid software development experience in large scale and mission critical system
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Expertise in building secure, scalable RESTFul web services
• Experience with agile development methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

•  12 years + of full stack software development experience
• Familiarity with modern programming languages
• Passionate about developing fast and reliable APIs
• Interested in learning new coding languages
• Experience in Node.JS, React JS, CSS, CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, Java preferred
• AWS or GCP experiences are advantageous
