The Role

As the Director, Fiduciary Activities, DC Innovation, you will serve as the governance and compliance anchor for Fidelity's Pooled Employer Plan (PEP) offerings. You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the pooled plans' annual plan audits, leading the preparation and execution of fiduciary and investment oversight committees, and coordinating key regulatory testing processes—including Nondiscrimination Testing (NDT), payroll validation, QNEC (Qualified Nonelective Contribution) support, and annual 5500 preparation. Your role ensures that our pooled employer plans operate with the highest degree of fiduciary oversight, regulatory compliance, and operational consistency.

The Work

• Plan Audit Leadership and Execution: Owns the PEP plan audit end‑to‑end, serving as the central coordinator across Product, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, and external auditors.
• Fiduciary and Investment Oversight Committee Support: Ensures that PEP fiduciary governance is structured, transparent, and audit‑ready. The team will schedule, prepare material, and run the Fiduciary product fiduciary committee meetings.
• NDT Oversight and Partner Management: Ensures PEP‑level NDT is executed accurately, consistently, and in coordination with the broader Testing and Reporting teams.
• Payroll Validation and Employer Data Review: As a significant component of the audit and compliance function, the team oversees and implement employer payroll validation for PEP employers on an as needed basis.
• Plan Correction Support and Process Innovation: This team provides expertise and oversight around QNEC calculations and delivery, with an eye towards improving this process as we scale.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Deep subject matter expertise around annual testing, regulatory reporting, plan audit requirements and operational defect correction methodology.
• A desire to partner with external and internal contacts to meet plan regulatory and audit requirements annually.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and with a range of stakeholders simultaneously
• Identify and document business requirements, current and future states, and ability to enhance and implement well designed processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize and interpret information to influence Subject Matter Experts, and Business Partners.
• Experience demonstrating leadership through influence and deep partnership.

The Team

You will join a high-performing product support team within the DC Innovation product group, focused on strengthening fiduciary integrity and governance for pooled employer retirement solutions. The team balances risk management, quality control and fiduciary oversight with driving long-term scalability across multiple products—including Fidelity Advantage 401(k) and new PEPs in different markets. In this role, you will help define a long-term strategy for how we consistently meet plan compliance requirements in an ever-evolving product climate.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
