Sobre este puesto de Director, Data Science en Known
WE HAVE CREATED A WORLD WHERE ART AND SCIENCE ARE BEST FRIENDS
Known is what happens when a data science firm and a creative agency stop arguing and start collaborating. We were built from scratch with PhD data scientists and award-winning creatives working on the same briefs, from day one. That structure earned us an Ad Age #3 A-List ranking, back-to-back Data & Insights Agency of the Year wins, plus Emmys, Cannes Lions, Clios, and Effies across clients in finance, tech, entertainment, consumer goods, and real estate. We're distributed across the U.S. and unapologetically ambitious.
If you're tired of choosing between doing smart work and doing creative work, you'll fit right in here.
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT US, LET'S TALK ABOUT YOU
Do you thrive at the intersection of data science, innovation, and marketing? Known seeks a Director of Data Science to lead cutting-edge marketing analytics and client engagements. Our Strategy team is at the heart of Known’s mission to bring ground-breaking customer insights, strategic consulting, media planning/buying and creative work to our clients.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this role you will have three main areas of responsibility:
- Lead client engagements at the intersection of data science, AI and strategy:
Take ownership of projects from scoping to delivery. Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to solve complex marketing challenges using advanced analytics, modeling approaches, statistics, and measurement & experimentation techniques. - Inspire and manage a talented team: Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists and advise a larger set of quantitative survey researchers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, while ensuring your team consistently delivers high-quality work.
- Drive growth: You’ll also pitch new projects and grow client relationships.
- Be a thought leader: Stay ahead of trends in marketing analytics, bringing new methodologies, tools, and techniques to both team members and clients. Serve as a trusted advisor, sharing your expertise on experimentation, machine learning, and advanced data science methods.
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
- You’re an expert in data science and statistics with 8+ years of professional experience in quantitative research, marketing, or consulting.
- You have at least 2 years of experience managing people and teams, inspiring them to do their best work. You enjoy training and developing others.
- You have superb communication, narrative-building, and presentation skills. You are as comfortable talking to engineers as with C-suite executives. You’re great at presenting and storytelling with data.
- You can write high-quality Python code and are comfortable with tools like Git and SQL. You understand data pipelines and can bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic business goals.
- You’re an expert at implementing and explaining machine learning models, including linear and XGBoost regressions.
- You have a deep grasp of statistics and probability applied to experimentation and other marketing problems.
- You’re proficient in analyzing both large datasets and smaller survey datasets. You have a POV on the role of AI in these environments. You’re up to date on the latest data science and AI developments and know how to apply them to what we’re trying to do.
- You’re proficient with data engineering tasks and tools, though your focus is more on modeling than data engineering
