Direct Tax Manager (Corporate Income Tax & Social Contribution Tax)

Position Summary

The Direct Tax Manager is responsible for leading the Company's direct tax function, ensuring compliance, effective tax risk management, and the identification of tax optimization opportunities. This role serves as a strategic business partner, ensuring adherence to tax legislation, accounting standards, and corporate policies while supporting business growth and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all direct tax compliance processes related to Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Social Contribution Tax (CSLL), and Transfer Pricing, ensuring accurate and timely tax calculations, filings, and corporate reporting.
• Manage current and deferred tax accounting processes, supporting financial statement preparation, tax reporting requirements, and compliance with internal controls, including SOX requirements.
• Serve as the primary technical advisor on direct tax matters, monitoring legislative developments and assessing their impact on the business and operations.
• Develop and implement tax strategies focused on tax efficiency, cash flow optimization, utilization of tax incentives, and mitigation of tax risks.
• Oversee the governance and monitoring of tax incentives and government programs, including R&D incentives, MOVER Program, government grants, and other applicable tax benefits.
• Lead strategic tax projects at both local and international levels, supporting business initiatives, organizational changes, and corporate transformations.
• Partner with Tax Controversy, Legal, Government Relations, and Finance teams on tax audits, tax authority inquiries, risk assessments, and complex technical matters.
• Coordinate technical studies, external tax advisory engagements, and legal opinions related to direct taxation and international tax matters.
• Support the management of uncertain tax positions and tax risk governance in accordance with applicable accounting and reporting requirements.
• Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage internal teams and external service providers, driving operational excellence, continuous process improvement, and talent development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Advanced degree or specialization in Taxation, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Extensive experience in Direct Taxes, including Corporate Income Tax, Social Contribution Tax, and Transfer Pricing.
• Strong knowledge of tax accounting, financial reporting, and internal control environments.
• Experience with SOX compliance, tax audits, and tax risk management.
• Exposure to multinational environments and international tax projects.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
