Diesel Equipment Mechanic
Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: Starting at $24.00/hour, with higher pay available depending on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Equipment Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, cranes, trailers, and other motorized equipment.
This position is based in a shop environment but requires some travel to other locations and job sites. Travel may include supporting emergency equipment repairs, performing preventive maintenance, or assisting with fleet repairs at locations without a dedicated mechanic.
Travel assignments include overtime and per diem.

- Other related mechanical systems
- High school diploma or GED.
- Trade school, dealership, factory service training, or equivalent technical education in diesel mechanical repair/maintenance.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair are preferred.
- Additional certifications may be required based on assigned responsibilities.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain accurate documentation.
- Good computer, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to respond with urgency when equipment repairs require immediate attention.
