Job Title
Design TechnologistJob Description
In this role, you have the opportunity to
Shape the next generation of user experiences for Azurion Eye by working at the intersection of experience design and software development in the Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGT-S) business unit. You will turn concepts for AI-enabled workflow orchestration, adaptive interfaces and data-fusion experiences into working prototypes that clinical users, UX designers, engineers and business stakeholders can experience, evaluate and improve. Through rapid experimentation, you will help the team reduce technical and usability risk early and make better-informed product decisions.
What is the Azurion Eye program? It advances Philips’ strategy to embed AI into clinical workflows by combining clinical intelligence, computer vision, predictive analytics, and AI-powered orchestration. The platform helps clinicians make faster, better-informed decisions, improve procedural efficiency through intuitive tableside control, and enhance patient safety with precision imaging and reduced radiation exposure, including in-room 3D CT-like imaging for stroke care.
Reporting to the Design Director IGT Systems, you will be part of a group of world-class designers from the Philips Experience Design community responsible for UX, product, and service experience design across IGT Systems’ product lines. You will be embedded in the Azurion Eye program and work closely with development squads and adjacent platform teams.
You are responsible for
· Creating functional, high-fidelity prototypes and proofs of concept for AI-enabled experiences.
· Translating experience concepts and user needs into technically credible experiments that expose assumptions, dependencies and integration risks early.
· Partnering with UX designers, software engineers and architects to connect design intent with platform capabilities, technology choices and implementation pathways.
· Contributing reusable front-end UI components, interaction patterns and prototype assets in line with the Philips Design Language System and Brand guidelines.
· Documenting prototype decisions, technical insights and learning outcomes so that successful concepts can transfer into product development.
· Using AI-assisted design and development tools responsibly to accelerate exploration, coding, testing and documentation while maintaining quality and traceability.
· Sharing design-technology methods, code and learning across your Design team and the wider Philips Experience Design community.
You have the following experience
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction, creative technology, computer science, software engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
· Minimum 3+ years of relevant professional experience in front-end UI prototyping and development, demonstrating a passion for crafting high quality UIs.
· Proficiency in modern front-end development, including JavaScript or TypeScript, React, HTML and CSS, with practical experience using GitHub and VS Code.
· Experience connecting prototypes to APIs, live or simulated data, AI services or software platforms.
· Using AI to accelerate your workflow, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
· Experience using Figma and translating design-system components and interaction specifications into working software.
· Understanding of accessibility, responsive user interface behavior, software quality and secure development practices.
· Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
