Role Overview 

Analog Devices International is seeking an experienced Design Evaluation Engineer to join the Automotive Networking team in Hyderabad, India. 

Key Responsibilities 

• In this technical role, you will plan and execute evaluation strategies for FPGA prototypes and automotive networking ASICs, from initial platform bring-up through system-level validation, characterisation, and release readiness. 

•  You will combine hands-on laboratory expertise with strong software development, test automation, data analysis, and technical leadership skills to deliver robust, repeatable, and high-quality evaluation solutions. 

• You will work closely with design, verification, applications, systems, software, and product engineering teams to identify technical risks, resolve complex issues, and ensure that silicon and supporting platforms meet product and system requirements.

Design Evaluation is a mixed hardware and software role. We evaluate silicon (both prototypes and final production devices), debug any issues, verify the design, characterize performance, take measurements, and support our worldwide teams.  

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:  

• Develop, execute, analyze, and debug complex silicon test cases. 

• Combination of hardware and software development 

• Perform silicon measurements and characterization using lab equipment. 

• Develop, prototype, and use evaluation board hardware. 

• Developing automation of lab equipment 

• Prototyping customer solutions on the bench 

Minimum qualifications  

• A qualification in an electronic/computer engineering. 

• Strong proficiency in C and Python. 

• Familiarity with analog electrical circuit theory 

• Familiarity with digital logic fundamentals 

• Familiarity with lab equipment measurements 

• Interested in using lab equipment and hands on approach. 

Preferred skills 

• Object oriented programming 

• Have some experience using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or equivalent devices. 

• Connecting sensors or actuators up to the devices and using them in projects. 

• Hands on approach, comfortable working with hardware, boards, equipment etc. 

• Working knowledge of Ethernet and networking concepts, together with experience using serial interfaces such as SPI, I²C, and UART. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical reports and present complex findings to varied audiences.
