The DB Administrator – Implementations is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and ongoing support of defined benefit pension plans. The role independently configures and implements new pension plans within the pension administration system, translates plan provisions and business requirements into system solutions, supports production issues and bug fixes, and implements system enhancements and new plan amendments. The role also develops, optimizes, and troubleshoots complex SQL queries to support business requirements, data analysis, issue resolution, and system performance. In addition, the Administrator supports broader defined benefit administration activities in accordance with plan provisions, established procedures, and service-level standards.
What You Will Do
- Independently configure and implement new defined benefit pension plans using the MARC™ Pension Administration System.
- Translate pension plan provisions and business requirements into system configurations and implementation requirements.
- Support the implementation and configuration of new pension plan provisions, benefit rules, and plan amendments.
- Provide ongoing production support for pension administration systems, including investigating and resolving production issues.
- Troubleshoot system defects and support bug fixes to maintain accurate and reliable pension administration functionality.
- Support system enhancements and changes required for new or amended pension plan provisions.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries to support business requirements, data analysis, issue resolution, and system performance.
- Analyze participant and plan data to identify system, configuration, or data-related issues.
- Test system configurations, enhancements, bug fixes, and plan amendments to confirm expected functionality.
- Review plan and participant documentation to support accurate pension plan implementation and administration.
- Perform assigned data-processing activities related to defined benefit plan administration.
- Process participant records, payroll information, pension data, data queries, and plan-related documents.
- Use applicable pension administration applications to support participant and plan administration requests within established service-level standards.
- Coordinate with defined benefit administrators, business teams, and technical stakeholders on implementation and production-support activities.
- Document system configurations, implementation requirements, testing outcomes, and changes in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve implementation processes, system performance, and administrative efficiency.
- Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately record billable time to support correct client billing.
- Deliver accurate and timely service to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support special projects and additional defined benefit administration activities as assigned.
- Pursue continued professional education, including taking and passing applicable professional examinations.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- 1–2 years of work experience, defined benefit experience will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, SQL server, including the ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to system, configuration, and data accuracy.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into system configuration or implementation requirements.
- Ability to interpret defined benefit pension plan provisions and apply them accurately within pension administration systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office or related software.
- Effective planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple implementation and production-support priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive client and participant information.

- Experience implementing or configuring defined benefit pension plans within a pension administration system.
- Experience using the MARC™ Pension Administration System.
- Experience translating pension plan provisions into system rules, configurations, or calculation logic.
- Experience supporting pension administration production environments.
- Experience troubleshooting system defects, production issues, and data discrepancies.
- Experience implementing pension plan amendments and system enhancements.
- Advanced SQL experience, stored procedures, joins, subqueries, data validation, including query optimization and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience with system testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, or implementation validation.
- Experience working with business, pension administration, and technology teams on system implementations.
- Relevant certification in U.S. employee benefits.
