Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

PING ID: Software Engineer - BA4

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who can design, develop and deliver secure, scalable and resilient applications, with primary accountability for PING ID solutions. This role combines hand-on engineering, technical oversight, project delivery ownership across entire PING ID.

You will be responsible to design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies build high-performing app meeting business requirement and delivering high-quality customer experiences adhering to organisation standards and control using modern architecture, automation, security and operational best practice

Key Responsibilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Hands-on in software engineering activities, including Coding, solution design, code reviews, architecture governance, troubleshooting and technical delivery.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

• Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in PROOFID skillset, Java, JavaScript, Junit, API, Docker and Google Cloud platform.
• Build modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security controls and release automation.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owner, Solution Architect, Security, Platform and QA teams to deliver integrated digital solutions.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, risk, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Support cross-platform initiatives through working knowledge of iOS development principles and mobile ecosystem standards.

Key Technical Skills and Experience

Must Haves:

• Ability to design, build, test, and operate production services using technologies such as ProofID Skillset, Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes, together with the desire to broaden your expertise.
• Ability to use AI engineering tools to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation while applying sound engineering judgment
• Experience building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilities
• Experience designing and implementing APIs, RESTful services, integration contracts, and data or domain models
• Experience turning requirements and ambiguous problems into designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions
• Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly, collaborate across teams and time zones, and support other engineers through feedback and knowledge sharing
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, or identity data modelling

Good to have:

Experience with AI agent identity and non-human identity

Familiarity with MCP, agent skills, and other agent integration concepts

Experience working across multiple codebases, teams, or product areas to ship cohesive outcomes
