Winter 2027 Course Lecturer Position

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Winter 2027. Please include your cover letter and Curriculum Vitae.
Course Lecturer MECH 539- Computational Aerodynamics (3 credits)
Instructor must cover all material as written in the Course Outline on the McGill Course Catalogue page, as follows:
- Fundamental equations. Basic flow singularities. Boundary element methods. Source, doublet and vortex panel methods for 2D and 3D incompressible and compressible flows. Method of characteristics. Euler equations for inviscid rotational flows. Finite-difference and finite-volume methods. Explicit and implicit time-integration methods. Quasi 1D solutions. Nozzle and confined aerofoil applications.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering.
- Preference will be given to those with work and/or research experience focused on aircraft
- dynamics and control.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the analysis and/or design of control systems. Prior experience in teaching.
- Familiarity with state-space modeling, analysis of control stability and other advanced control topics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Strong problem-solving skills and flexible approach to teaching. Awareness of cross-cultural practices.
