About The Role
Schumacher & Co. is looking for an Assistant Plant Controller/Senior Cost Accountant to support financial and operational reporting for our Paramount Prints division. You'll work closely with the factory floor and corporate finance, helping keep inventory accurate, clearing RNV (Receipts Not Vouchered) discrepancies, and supporting capital projects for the facility. You'll work with the AR/AP associate day to day and partner with the Director of Production Planning.
- Operational Partnership: Work with the Director of Production Planning and the production team, providing analysis on throughput, labor utilization, and efficiency KPIs.
- Divisional Accounting & Reporting: Run the month-end close for the division, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant financial statements. Prepare variance analysis on standard costs and manufacturing efficiency.

Inventory & RNV: Support the integrity of inventory. Perform cycle count reconciliations, help maintain raw material and finished goods valuation, and investigate and resolve RNV issues so the P&L reflects actual operating costs.

Process Development: Develop processes and implement controls, such as running time studies and creating BOMs, giving management clearer visibility into production efficiency.
- Team Support: Work alongside the AR/AP associate to keep transactional processing timely and internal controls over cash and liabilities in good shape.
- CapEx Support: Help track Paramount Prints' capital projects, including budget monitoring, AFE tracking, asset capitalization, and post-completion reviews.

Experience: 4-6 years in manufacturing or cost accounting. Exposure to inventory and RNV processes. Experience guiding or training others is a plus.
- Technical Foundation: Solid working knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, and goods receipt reconciliation.
- Systems: Working proficiency in an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and comfort tracing discrepancies within it. Strong Excel skills.
- Communication: Able to explain the numbers clearly to non-finance partners and build good working relationships on the production floor.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA or progress toward one is a plus.
