Job Description & Summary

Expertise in transforming complex supply chains and procurement functions is at the heart of this role, where your strategic thinking and industry knowledge will drive meaningful outcomes. As a Manager in the Supply Chain and Procurement team at PwC, you’ll bring your strong consulting experience and deep understanding of retail and consumer products to lead end-to-end transformation initiatives, based in Melbourne / Naarm or Sydney / Gadigal country. You will partner with leading retail and consumer organisations to shape future-focused strategies and deliver innovative solutions across sourcing, logistics, and merchandising.

Why PwC?

At PwC Australia, your skills meet purpose. We tackle big challenges across industries, giving you the chance to make a real impact. Here, your growth is our priority. You’ll work with leading teams, explore new technologies, and unlock your full potential.

Join a global community of more than 370,000 people who value bold ideas, collaboration, and lasting change. Together, we’re building trust and shaping the future.

What you’ll do:

As a retail and consumer-focused Manager in the Supply Chain and Procurement team, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the end-to-end value chain (e.g., plan, source, make, deliver) to:

  • Support Merchandising teams to define and implement sourcing and category strategies, reduce COGS, or enhance buying operating models spanning people, process, systems and data.
  • Design, implement and optimise planning, forecasting and replenishment processes and technologies.
  • Improve manufacturing, warehousing, transport and logistics operations to boost efficiency and business impact.
  • Strengthen retail store operations to ensure customer needs are met and organisation strategy is fulfilled.
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising, category management, supply chain and store operations client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Conduct analysis, develop insights, and produce high-quality deliverables (e.g., reports, models, roadmaps); contribute to proposals and thought leadership.

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong consulting background or a proven track record delivering projects and transformation in leading Retail and Consumer Products organisations.
  • Deep understanding of retail and consumer products market dynamics, including demand and inventory management, sourcing, category management, transport and logistics, and store operations.
  • Expertise in defining and executing strategy, operating model design and improvement, end-to-end technology transformation, and commercial and process excellence.
  • Advisory or hands-on experience with relevant forecasting, replenishment and merchandising technologies, and an interest or experience working with AI.
  • Strong curiosity, analytical and structured problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges and translate insights into practical outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability.
  • Ability to challenge, be adaptable and confident in navigating ambiguity.
  • Experience working in at least one of the following industries: FMCG & retail, energy, utilities & resources.
  • A degree and relevant professional qualifications are highly regarded

We would like to hear from a range of candidates who may be a good fit for the role and encourage applications from candidates who may not meet every criteria outlined above.

What you’ll gain:

  • The opportunity to work with leading organisations and cutting-edge technology that challenge and expand your expertise.
  • Flexibility means trusting you to choose when, where, and how you work balancing what’s best for you, your team, and your clients to grow and thrive together.
  • Clear paths for career progression supported by continuous learning and leadership development.
  • Generous leave entitlements to support your work-life balance - including floating public holidays, birthday leave and ability to purchase additional leave on top of your four weeks.
  • A world-class parental leave policy offering up to 26 weeks of leave for caregivers, supporting your family and personal life.
