Main Purpose of Position Responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of tournament operations with particular focus on The Classic, a new LPGA Event in Corning, NY.
Reports To Direct: Director, Events In-direct: Operations Manager
Location: Corning, NY
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Coordinate and communicate operational timeline that includes detailed set-up and tear-down schedules, at the direction of Operations Director / Tournament Director.
Support Operations Director / Tournament Director on vendor identification, negotiations, contracting and overall site plan to insure first-class presentation for the operation of event.
Support the coordination of all vendor contracts for the operation of the tournament and ancillary programming with a focus on balancing cost savings and exceptional delivery standards.
Develop and evaluate Vendor RFPs across all tournament operations categories
Liaise with all operational vendors – including tent and scaffold vendor(s), flooring, restrooms, office trailers, fencing, signage, storage, power/HVAC, catering, waste management and ecology, equipment rentals, parking, etc.
Support tournament staff with overall course and operational setup
Placement and setup of temporary office trailers, POLs, and restroom trailers
Order, track, and ensure proper delivery of furniture to hospitality venues and trailers
Receive, track, and deliver shipments on-site
Assist in placement of barricade and temporary fencing on-course and in parking lots
Coordinate delivery schedule and monitor equipment drops on-site
Place on-site storage containers, ice chests, light towers, etc. per instruction from Director of Operations
Track and manage vendor fleets of golf carts and radios
Manage small crew of temporary labor for various projects
Provide load-in and load-out assistance to exhibitors and vendors
Provide support and assistance to operational volunteer committees such as Caddie Control, Locker Room, Product Control, Shuttles, and Transportation
Support efforts of other IMG Events by assisting with Operational planning as assigned.
Participate in special projects and other related duties/projects as reasonably assigned
Unusual Challenges or Circumstances e.g. shift(s)/ unsocial hours/ travel etc
Extended hours during the production and delivery of each event, including weekend and holiday hours
Engagement with teams in multiple time zones
Outdoor events, with pre-planning and execution phases in potentially volatile temperatures and weather conditions
Key Results Areas
Enhance operational presentation in line with key stakeholder strategies
Build the prestige, profile, and sustainable brand equity of each event
Support operational lead and TD’s budget management to impact positive results
Provide tangible thought leadership across events and geographic regions
Affect innovation / change within a traditional sport
Essential Job Knowledge and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
2+ years of hands-on event operations experience, with proven success
Experience working across multiple logistical and tactical projects
Experience with the creation and delivery of detailed operational planning projects and timelines
Proven success in coordinating partner relationships including vendors, suppliers and community partners
Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
Attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and produce high quality work
Ability to work non-traditional hours and weekends; ability to travel
Proficiency with office and relevant operational software
Collaborative in nature with a “no job is too small” attitude
Competency with Autocad or other plotting software a bonus

Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.
