I lead Cooking Gift Set Co. as CEO. We're a design-led cooking, food and kitchen brand, founded in 2016. My edge is product development - introducing new, design-forward products to the market. My background is in design and I personally lead product validation and design.

My biggest goal over the next 12 months is to accelerate product launches: we managed 4 new products this past year and I want to hit 15 next year. Launching more products is the number one lever for growth. The biggest challenge in the way is the sourcing bottleneck - chasing suppliers, getting NNNs signed, hitting cost sheet targets and sample quality. Roughly 10 product ideas were attempted this year and only 4 made it through. I'm based in Bangkok and I'm happy working with remote team members.

We're looking for a Product Sourcing Specialist. You'll take ownership of the sourcing side of new product development so we can dramatically increase the number of products we launch each year. You're a self-directed sourcing professional who can turn product briefs into launched products - someone who wants to crank these out and takes pride in owning their part of the process.

📋 Take product specs, mockups and design briefs from the founder and run with them to find suitable suppliers

✏️ Identify and approach 5-6 potential suppliers per product, get them to sign NNNs, and get quotes

💡 Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, MOQs, lead times, samples and production

💻 Manage back-and-forth conversations with suppliers on design/component options and check in with the founder on decisions

📊 Plug into the company's existing unit economics framework (HTS codes, cost sheets, ocean freight, etc.) to validate viability

📦 Drive products through until they are checked into FBA in the US (the definition of a 'launch')

You'll need at least 3-4 hours of overlap with Bangkok (ICT) afternoons, roughly 1pm-5pm Bangkok time. Likely you'll start earlier in your day (around 8am your time) to catch the founder's afternoon.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you need:

✅ Sourcing background - understands MOQs, supplier negotiation, lead times, production, ocean freight

✅ Baseline understanding of unit economics (cost sheets, HTS codes, etc.)

✅ Experience sourcing from China (main focus; some Vietnam experience a plus but not required)

✅ Experience with exporting shelf stable food and compliance requirements

Brownie points for:

⭐ A bit of a 'design eye' / attention to detail, since work is based off product mockups and images

The ideal candidate has a hungry, driven, hustler mindset - someone who wants to crank these out and takes pride and ownership of their part of the process. Accountability and self-direction matter here: the founder doesn't want to micromanage and dislikes problems being bounced back without investigation. Direct communication is valued (Eastern European style directness is a plus); emotionally avoidant candidates are a turn-off. You can think alongside the founder, not just execute.
