We’re seeking a Content Designer who will take the lead in shaping the future of a federal client’s website by developing and executing a robust content strategy for digital products. You’ll use your deep knowledge of human-centered design (research, conceptual design, prototyping, testing) in collaboration with content writers, product designers, researchers, product managers and engineers to develop clear, audience-focused content and roadmaps that guide users smoothly through our products while adhering to our mission goals, policy standards, and user needs.
The work:
- Your will have a demonstrated ability to design clear, action-oriented, and plain-language content for complex digital workflows, involving sensitive or transactional data.
- You will identify areas for improvement and create detailed roadmaps for refreshing digital products, ensuring they align with both user needs and organizational objectives.
- Your role will also involve gathering requirements, facilitating client discussions, and conducting content reviews to drive the success of programmatic improvements.
- In this position, you will leverage your expertise in SEO, GEO, AEO, and user experience inform your strategy and recommendations. You will support user testing efforts, using insights gained to validate proposed changes and enhance the overall user journey.
- Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with interaction and service designers, providing guidance on content strategy while supporting the implementation of visual and structural updates.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, inclusive language practices, and compliance-driven content constraints will be highly beneficial in ensuring the ongoing success and sustainability of the site’s products.
Here’s what you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a content strategist or content marketer.
- 5+ years of experience crafting content for digital products or services in consulting, in-house, or agency environments
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a focus on creating topical authority.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and SEO (site structure, schema markup) combined with knowledge of how AI models retrieve information
- Proven track record reducing confusion, form errors, and abandonment through structured microcopy, guidance patterns, and progressive disclosure
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and best practices
- Experience partnering closely with product, legal, compliance, and engineering to ensure content accuracy and implementation integrity
- Ability to communicate design intent and tradeoffs clearly to diverse stakeholders, including non-design audiences
- Provide a writing sample
Bonus if you have:
- Experience working with federal agencies or on public-sector digital services
- Prior experience in client-facing or consulting roles within regulated environments
- Prior experience in GEO, AEO and AI-strategy to structure information for both human readability and machine readability
- Strong foundation in human-centered design principles for browser-based, native application, and platform experiences
- Experience writing for complex, high-traffic platforms serving diverse audiences
- Exposure to service design, journey mapping, or omni-channel government services
- Experience supporting data-informed design using analytics or Voice of the Customer tools
- Relevant Master’s Degree
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
