Consultation General Physiatrist - Full Time

Description:  Seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and hard working physiatrist to join our expanding rehabilitation medicine practice in an academic environment.  Primary job responsibilities focus on the development and maintenance of a busy inpatient consultative physiatry practice in both acute care and sub-acute rehabilitation settings.  Other practice opportunities may include outpatient practice in some circumstances.

The Department of Rehabilitation at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the largest and most diverse faculties in the Northeast Region.  In addition, the department has a strong education component, supporting 31 residents and approximately 12 fellows each academic year. Our faculty members have diverse interests including ultrasound guided procedures, general musculoskeletal care, neuro-rehabilitation, peri-transplant rehabilitation, oncologic rehabilitation pediatric rehabilitation, cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation, as well as spasticity management, prosthetics and orthotics, and others. 

Requirements: Applicant must be a board eligible or board-certified physiatrist.

Responsibilities and Expectations: The applicant will be expected to help sustain and grow an active consultation service in both the acute care hospital setting as well as in a sub-acute rehabilitation setting.  The physician will be expected to work closely with colleagues within the department as well as with physicians from other related fields in order to support an integrated care model and facilitate high quality care. In addition, the applicant will actively participate in the training of residents.  This responsibility may include curriculum development, direct supervision of trainees and their evaluation in collaboration with our PM&R residency. Finally, the applicant will have the opportunity to take an active role in ongoing and new research endeavors in the area of rehabilitation medicine.

COMPENSATION: In addition to a competitive salary of $210K - $240K, Montefiore offers a full suite of benefits, including health, dental, vision, LTD/STD, paid malpractice, and a 403(b)-retirement plan
