The programme will support approximately 20 ECD centres, reaching an estimated 1,500–2,000 children through targeted school feeding, complemented by basic improvements to learning environments, teacher and caregiver support, and strengthened monitoring of attendance and transition into primary education.

Street Child seeks to engage a locally based Community-Based Trainer and Mobiliser (CBTM) with relevant education and ECD experience to support effective programme implementation, monitoring, and community engagement.

2. Purpose of the Role

C. Community Mobilisation and Engagement

  • Maintain regular engagement with parents, caregivers, school management committees, and community leaders.
  • Encourage community participation in ECD education, including regular attendance and support for school feeding arrangements.
  • Facilitate community meetings and sensitisation activities on the importance of early childhood education and transition to primary school.
  • Support community contributions and local ownership of programme activities.
  • Act as a liaison between Street Child, beneficiary communities, ECD centres, and relevant local authorities.

D. Coordination and Capacity Support

  • Liaise with the Subcounty ECD Office and other relevant education authorities on programme implementation.
  • Support the identification and assessment of ECD centres against agreed programme selection criteria.
  • Assist in organising and facilitating short, practical orientation sessions for teachers, caregivers, and school committees on feeding management, record-keeping, and basic ECD practices.

  • Collect and compile accurate monthly programme data, including enrolment, attendance, feeding coverage, and transition information.
  • Maintain organised records of field visits, monitoring findings, challenges, and follow-up actions.
  • Submit brief monthly activity reports to the Programme Manager.
  • Document relevant observations, beneficiary feedback, and examples of programme impact.
