Location: Dallas, TX
 

Job Description:

The Project Executive will provide leadership and executive oversight for HITT’s Healthcare projects throughout the Dallas market. This individual will be responsible for the overall success of multiple projects, including safety, preconstruction, financial performance, schedule, quality, staffing, client satisfaction, and closeout.

The Project Executive will also help grow HITT’s Healthcare practice in Dallas by maintaining existing client relationships, developing new business, leading pursuits, and building relationships within the local healthcare community.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain adherence to HITT’s safety standards.
  • Ensure all project processes are followed in accordance with HITT policies.
  • Provide executive oversight of multiple healthcare projects and project teams.
  • Lead projects from preconstruction and estimating through construction, turnover, and final closeout.
  • Lead preconstruction and RFP efforts with support from the Preconstruction Department and other company resources.
  • Review project estimates, budgets, schedules, scopes of work, bid packages, and procurement plans.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients while managing project risk and protecting HITT’s interests.
  • Monitor project performance through updated schedules, cost reports, forecasts, and operational reviews.
  • Maintain accountability for project profitability, quality, schedule, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure project-specific Quality Control Plans are developed, implemented, and followed.
  • Assist project teams with resolving scope gaps, subcontractor issues, coordination challenges, and contractual concerns.
  • Identify, document, and negotiate change orders and schedule extensions when justified.
  • Oversee healthcare-specific planning, including infection control, occupied-facility logistics, shutdowns, phasing, interim life-safety measures, inspections, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Ensure proper coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, medical-gas, fire-protection, and low-voltage systems.
  • Work closely with healthcare clients, facility teams, architects, consultants, and trade partners to minimize disruptions to active operations.
  • Acquire new work while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing healthcare clients.
  • Lead RFP responses, project interviews, client presentations, and pursuit efforts.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the subcontractor community and healthcare industry partners.
  • Ensure the timely completion of punch-list, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other operations team members.
  • Partner with field leadership to ensure project teams are properly staffed and positioned for success.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure projects and tasks run smoothly.
     

Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Significant experience leading healthcare construction projects, including hospitals, medical office buildings, clinics, outpatient facilities, or other medical environments.
  • Experience managing both ground-up healthcare construction and renovations within occupied facilities is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare construction requirements, including infection control, ICRA procedures, interim life-safety measures, shutdown planning, phasing, commissioning, and regulatory inspections.
  • Experience coordinating complex MEP systems, medical gas, fire protection, low voltage, and healthcare equipment.
  • Proven ability to oversee multiple projects and project teams simultaneously.
  • Experience leading projects from preconstruction and estimating through construction and final closeout.
  • Strong estimating and preconstruction experience, including budgeting, constructability reviews, scheduling, value engineering, procurement, and subcontractor leveling.
  • Established business development experience, including developing client relationships, leading pursuits, and securing new work.
  • Strong relationships within the Dallas healthcare construction market are preferred.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction management, engineering, architecture, or business is strongly preferred. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, cost reports, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, JD Edwards, and other project-specific software platforms.
     

Technical Experience:

  • Strong understanding of construction within active and occupied healthcare environments where patient safety and continuity of operations are critical.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare-specific systems, including medical gas, normal and emergency power, HVAC and pressure relationships, nurse call, fire alarm, security, low-voltage systems, pneumatic tube, domestic water, and critical utility infrastructure.
  • Experience delivering technically intensive spaces such as operating rooms, catheterization labs, imaging suites, MRI and CT rooms, pharmacies, sterile-processing departments, isolation rooms, laboratories, and critical-care environments.
  • Understanding of healthcare-specific requirements related to air pressure, filtration, temperature and humidity, infection prevention, life safety, and utility redundancy.
  • Experience coordinating the installation, commissioning, and turnover of owner-furnished medical equipment, including imaging and other specialty equipment.
  • Ability to understand and manage the impact of construction activities on patients, clinical staff, hospital operations, and critical infrastructure.
