The Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the administration, monitoring, and risk management of a portfolio of commodity finance credit facilities, including borrowing base facilities, transactional trade finance structures, and agency transactions.

The role serves as a key control function supporting transaction execution, collateral monitoring, borrowing base analysis, client servicing, and risk oversight. The successful candidate will work closely with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Operations, Credit, and borrowers to ensure financing activities are executed accurately, collateral is appropriately monitored, and emerging risks are promptly identified and escalated.

This position provides excellent exposure to commodity finance, asset-based lending, trade finance products, collateral structures, and credit risk management within a leading global financial institution.

Responsibilities:

Collateral Monitoring & Risk Analysis

  • Review and analyze borrowing base reports, inventory reports, collateral schedules, accounts receivable aging reports, and other collateral-related information.

  • Monitor client positions against approved borrowing base availability, credit limits, and facility sub-limits.

  • Verify collateral eligibility, advance rate calculations, concentration limits, and compliance with approved credit parameters.

  • Review mark-to-market reports, commodity pricing information, and position reports to identify emerging risks and trends.

  • Assess the adequacy of collateral coverage and identify exceptions, discrepancies, or deterioration in risk profile.

  • Escalate collateral deficiencies, reporting exceptions, and adverse developments to management and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Transaction Execution & Facility Administration

  • Support day-to-day financing activities, including loans, letters of credit, receivable purchases, payments, and other trade finance transactions.

  • Review transaction requests to ensure consistency with approved credit structures and facility documentation.

  • Coordinate with Operations, Relationship Management, and Portfolio Management teams to facilitate timely transaction execution.

  • Monitor transaction processing timelines and proactively resolve execution issues or delays.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, transaction records, and internal tracking tools.

Deal Support & Documentation Review

  • Assist with the review of term sheets, credit approvals, legal documentation, amendments, and facility structures.

  • Participate in transaction discussions relating to new business opportunities, amendments, and renewals.

  • Develop an understanding of transaction mechanics, operational requirements, and collateral structures.

  • Support facility closings and implementation of new transactions.

  • Assist in identifying operational considerations and execution risks associated with new structures.

Agency Facility Management

  • Support the administration of syndicated and agency-managed facilities.

  • Monitor facility utilization, lender commitments, sub-limits, and borrower requests.

  • Coordinate with lenders, borrowers, and internal teams regarding facility-related activities.

  • Assist with letter of credit reconciliation and agency reporting requirements.

  • Support responses to lender and borrower inquiries.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders on operational and collateral-related matters.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Operations, Credit, Legal, Compliance, and borrowers.

  • Communicate facility updates, collateral developments, transaction status, and issue resolution in a timely and professional manner.

  • Support a solutions-oriented approach while maintaining adherence to approved credit and risk parameters.

Controls, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain strong adherence to internal policies, credit approvals, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform control checks to ensure consistency between transaction activity, collateral reporting, and internal systems.

  • Identify operational risks, control deficiencies, or process gaps and escalate appropriately.

  • Maintain awareness of BSA/AML, OFAC, sanctions, and financial crime requirements applicable to assigned responsibilities.

  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for risk management activities within assigned portfolio responsibilities.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience within commercial banking, corporate banking, trade finance, credit, lending operations, treasury, or a related financial services environment.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret financial, collateral, and transactional information.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior exposure to commodity finance, asset-based lending, collateral management, trade finance, supply chain finance, or structured lending.

  • Familiarity with borrowing base facilities, inventory financing, receivables financing, and trade finance products.

  • Working knowledge of banking platforms such as ACBS, LoanIQ, Trade360, or similar systems.

  • Understanding of credit documentation, collateral structures, and operational transaction workflows.

  • Experience reviewing client reporting packages, collateral certificates, position reports, or mark-to-market reports.
