CNC Steel Machinist

Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: Starting at $20/hour, higher depending on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking a CNC Machinist with structural steel fabrication experience to produce accurate steel components using CNC machinery. The ideal candidate can read technical drawings, set up and operate CNC equipment, perform measurements and inspections, and troubleshoot basic machine issues.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and run CNC machinery used in structural steel fabrication, including combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
Review blueprints, schematics, and work orders before and during production.
Adjust machine settings to maintain proper operation, dimensions, and accuracy.
Use hand and power tools for machining and assembly work.
Inspect completed parts to verify dimensions, quality, and compliance with design specifications.
Identify machine problems and perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
Enter production information and maintain accurate records in Global Shop (ERP).
Work with other shop employees to maintain safe, organized, and efficient production.
Follow established safety and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
Previous structural steel fabrication experience is required.
Experience operating CNC equipment, specifically combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and work orders.
Proficiency using hand and power tools.
Strong computer skills; Global Shop or similar ERP experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
