Your New Role and Responsibilities

At Leidos Australia, our Matrix Engineering Team is a hub of technical excellence, supporting mission-critical programs across Defence, Intelligence, and Federal Government portfolios.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will:

• Architect and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments that align with business needs.
• Oversee cloud resources (compute, storage, networking) across platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Plan and execute migration of applications and data from on-premises systems to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Develop scripts and workflows using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate deployments and optimise resource usage.
• Implement robust security measures, monitor compliance, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to protect cloud environments.

What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
• Expertise in tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation for automated deployments and configuration management.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerised applications in cloud environments.
• Strong skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automation, plus familiarity with languages like Java or Go for cloud-native development.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices, VPC design, VPNs, load balancers, and compliance frameworks.
