Job Summary

The Lurie Center for Autism, a Mass General Brigham program based in Lexington, is a multidisciplinary program designed to evaluate and treat children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions. The Center is seeking a Research Coordinator I to assist with implementing a portfolio of clinical research trials and projects related to Williams syndrome.

The CRC I will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and will participate in tasks related to all phases of the clinical research including the initiation, monitoring, completion, and reporting phases. All activities will be conducted in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Clinical Practices (GCP) Guidelines.


Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date (up to one year if starting on a per diem basis) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies that all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical research studies and conducting phone interviews.
-Monitor participant enrollment, study progress, and protocol compliance, escalating concerns to investigators as appropriate.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
-Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
-Maintain study databases and electronic data capture systems, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timely entry.
-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
-Assists with interviewing study subjects.
-Assists with study regulatory submissions.
-Coordinate communication among investigators, study staff, sponsors, and collaborator to support successful study execution.
-Support the preparation of abstracts, presentations, manuscripts, and progress reports related to Williams syndrome and other neurodevelopmental research projects.

Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively with children, adults, and families, and attention to detail are essential. Candidates should be comfortable balancing participant-facing interactions with data management, regulatory, and administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently to manage study activities while communicating effectively with participants, investigators, and research team members to ensure smooth study operations.

This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical research within a multidisciplinary academic medical center and is well suited for individuals interested in careers in medicine, psychology, neuroscience, genetic counseling, public health, or clinical research. Due to the substantial investment in training and the duration of the research studies, candidates able to commit to the position for at least two years are strongly preferred.
