Job Title

About your role:

As a Sr. Technical Support Engineer, you will support Digital Payments clients by resolving complex application issues, analyzing technical data and improving support outcomes. You will work with clients, Product Management and Engineering to investigate defects, validate releases and recommend product improvements. Your work helps clients maintain reliable digital payment experiences and achieve measurable business results.

What you'll do:

• Troubleshoot software application issues by replicating client-reported errors in integrated test environments.
• Analyze server logs, Extensible Markup Language (XML) code and Single Sign-On (SSO) data to identify root causes and support resolution.
• Provide Level II client support through phone, email and inquiry management tools.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to share client feedback, validate release readiness and support existing CashEdge application releases.
• Build product knowledge across Digital Payments applications and share technical guidance with clients and team members.
• Develop tools, documentation and process improvements that improve client support workflows and reduce recurring issues.

Experience you'll need to have:

• 6+ years of experience in object-oriented programming for scalable, secure and maintainable web applications.
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting production or test environment application issues using server logs, XML data, SSO information or similar diagnostic inputs.
• 2+ years of experience developing or supporting applications using Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE), formerly J2EE, and Structured Query Language (SQL).
• 2+ years of experience supporting client-facing technical issues in a post-sales customer support organization.
• 2+ years of experience working with web technologies such as XML, web services, HyperText Markup Language (HTML), JavaScript or similar technologies.
• 2+ years of experience analyzing complex technical issues that require research, replication, documentation and cross-functional resolution.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

• Experience in software engineering or quality assurance for financial services or digital payments applications.
• Experience using Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for case documentation, issue tracking or client support workflows.
• Experience with Model-View-Controller (MVC) frameworks and view technologies such as JavaServer Pages (JSP), JavaServer Faces (JSF) or similar technologies.
• Experience supporting high-availability or high-volume transaction systems.

How you'll work:

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
• This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
• This role requires flexibility to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
